Please note that while we strive to keep our online menu as up-to-date as possible, our offerings change regularly. The menu available in-house may differ from what is displayed on the website.
Visit the Rata Room, NMIT’s training café, restaurant and bar during term time to sample contemporary cuisine and experience professional service from New Zealand's Cookery and Hospitality stars of the future.
Enjoy an ever-changing menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including wines and craft beers from the Nelson/Tasman regions.
Your support helps our front-of-house students and trainee chefs to develop the skills and confidence they need for future employment.
Reservation Policy
Dinner Service
Reservations are required for all evening dining experiences. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins during dinner service, thanks to the incredible support.
To ensure your table, please book in advance using our online reservation system or contact us via email. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.
Lunch Service
We warmly welcome walk-in guests during our daytime café and lunch service. However, we recommend a reservation if you would like to ensure a table!
